A Must See

Mom and Dad invited me to go see Bedtime Stories with them tonight. I loved it!! A definate must see. If Jordan wasn't so scared to go into a theater I would take him to see it. I'll most certainly buy it when it comes out on DVD.

Happy Birthday to Me!!

Ok, so it's not my birthday anymore, but wasn't online much yesterday to post. I had a fun day with lots going on. I got to sleep in, which is awesome since I don't get that luxury very often. I went to the grocery store all by myself to pick up stuff for dinner, then went bowling. Boy but I stunk, even falling once, but I had great fun. My arm and body is even sore from it.

After bowling was dinner and games then going to bed. I got some great gifts from everyone, and thank them for making it such a great day for me. Now I'm just veggin' at my parents house until I decide to head home. Maybe tomorrow so I can do a little bit more shopping. We'll see though.

Christmas Goodies

I've been busy making layouts the past little bit, so I figured I'd post them. Only 2 more shopping days until Christmas...are you ready??? I totally am! Storms are heading out way, so I wonder if we'll have a White Christmas.

Snow Day

After tons of snow falling yesterday, I got a phone call at 3:30am telling me that school was cancelled today. I wasn't thrilled by the call, other then being able to sleep in. It would have been Jordan's last day before break so he only ended up going one day this week. He's thrilled.

I'm looking forward to getting things finalized this weekend for Christmas. I just have a few things to pick up still. Now to get my Christmas cards mailed off.

I'll leave you with a new layout using Nikki Painter's Christmas Present Kit. So fun to work with. Check it out at Faith Sisters because for a limited time you can get it 25% off.

Cold and Rainy Day

So, after spending the weekend with mom and dad I was going to head home Sunday. Well, I decided I still needed to get a few things for Christmas so I called in sick for Jordan and was going to head home today. No such luck. All day it's been cold and rainy. I wasn't willing to brave driving over the mountain pass in snowy conditions. So, Jordan gets to ditch another day and I hope the weather clears enough for me to go home tomorrow.

I've enjoyed my time with mom and dad, I'm just ready to get a few things together still for Christmas and to have Jordan finish the last couple of days before break.

I'll be sure to post the pictures from the weekend when I get back. I also look forward to getting back to scrapping too. This is one of the reasons why I would consider getting a laptop to be able to take my stuff with me wherever I go. Hmmm....something to think about.

The Vampires are Coming....

Ok, maybe not but there is a fabulous new collaboration kit by Pineapple Plantation Designs & Franziska Altmann called Sweet Deceit found at Scrap Orchard. It is a "Twilight" inspired kit, but definately can be used for anything.

I asked my sister if I could use her photos of my niece at the Breaking Dawn release party aka: Vampire Prom. Of course she was all to willing to let me. Here's what I came up with.

I have a few more photos to play with, so I'll be posting more later.

Eventful Weekend

So beside the stye on my eye I quite enjoyed my weekend. We got the kids ready Saturday to go visit Santa. Jordan didn't want to go and kept telling up we were going to Burger King. Well, when we got to Santa, Jordan saw him and went right up, sat on his lap and was thrilled. Melody was the same way and in aww with "Ho Ho Ho" as she calls him. They both did great and we got this super picture even if Santa isn't looking.

Then we got home and I finished getting the area cleaned up where I was putting the tree. Should have been done a long time ago, but at least it's done and the tree is up. I didn't get around to decorating until today because we went to see the play at Pahrump pa pum pum put on by Shadow Mountain Community Players. Jordan had a blast listening and cheering for the high school brass ensemble that was playing Christmas carols.

Today the kids and I decorated the tree..mostly me, and I'm glad it's up. I'm seriously thinking about changing it though because we've had the same tree with a few additions for 9 years. I'm gonna save up my $$ and get stuff on clearance when Christmas is over. Now just what to get.

I also was able to get a couple of layouts done in the process this weekend.

I'm planning on baking goodies for Loney to take to work, so it'll be a long couple of days. Hopefully I won't eat too much as I go along and give it all away.

Ouch and blech

So yesterday I woke up with a bump on my eyelid. Yep, you guessed it...a stupid stye on my eye. Very painful and I just want it to go away. Oh well, I've been putting heat on it to help the pain, as well as help with bringing it to head faster so I don't have to go to the doctor. We'll see how that goes. I thought I'd put a few layouts I've created the past few days. Been on a pretty good kick.

So Little Time

I'm so far behind with everything, I think I'll go insane. Christmas is coming and I'm not near ready. My house is a mess, I hope all my decorations are ok, and I just don't want to face it. I'm behind a little bit with my CT assignments, so I need to catch up with those. Well, at least I've started to accomplish something today. My tennis shoes are on, I've got some laundry going, and I completed two layouts today, ok so one was last night, but I uploaded it today if that counts. Well, I'm off to find the energy to work on the house so I can decorate this weekend. Here's the two layouts I completed.

You could not believe

I've been so sick this weekend along with Melody and Jordan. To top off the bout of sickness I threw my back out. Can you believe it? I'm doing so much better today, and so are both the kids. Luckily since it's only 3 days until Thanksgiving. I'm still going to be recovering from my back, but I'll be able to get around. Hopefully I'll be well enough to sit through watching Twilight sometime while in town.

Friday, November 21, 2008

Oh man, I'm sicker then a dog. I realized I never really thought about that saying before. How sick is sicker then a dog? Oh well, I'm sick and so are the kids. Stupid sinuses are pounding, and my nose is all stuffed up. I don't want to do anything but sit and scrap. I have managed to do that though and take care of the kid's basic needs. Probably going to be early bed for me..if I can sleep. Here are some new layouts for your enjoyment.

Renewed

So, after fighting with my computer for a little bit, I'm finally about ready for things to get back to normal. The kids and I visited with my parents this past weekend, and it was so nice. With us not having a car to travel together in, it's been difficult to visit. Hopefully that will change soon.

I've been busy scrapping since I got back. Here's some for your viewing enjoyment:

Super News

Ok, so my computer is finally up and running. I'm still installing all my usual programs so I'm not back on schedule but I'm getting there. Hopefully I'll be back to creating by tomorrow.

On to some super exciting news. Before the computer crash I applied to be on another Creative Team. I got the acceptance email today! I am now creating for Scrap With Nikki (Nikki Painter). I love her designs and can't wait to get creating with them. You can find her at Faith Sisters and ScrapwithNikki.com. Be on the lookout for her stuff!!

Virus

So my title has two meanings. We've been dealing with viruses and bacteria for several weeks now in my family. Loney's fight Staph infections, Jordan had the croup and is coughing, and Melody has had a runny nose all week. Luckily I've stayed clear of the virus's. At least for my body. My computer on the other hand is a completely different story.

My computer is down for who knows how long. I'm hoping Loney will take pity on me and try to fix it. So until that happens, no new scrapbook pages. I guess I should take this opportunity to clean my house. hmmmm.....

Be sure to check out what's new at Faith Sisters though. The newsletter is up and there's some great stuff. http://faith-sisters.blogspot.com/2008/11/faith-sisters-digital-scrapbooking-new.html

Well, I'm off to bed. Night!!

Fall Back

I just love the end of Daylight Savings Time.  Getting an extra hour of sleep anytime is the way to go.  I've been loving the rain we got yesterday and feeling the freshness outside today.  Just perfect for a nice walk.  Too bad I didn't get to go with Loney when he did take a walk.

Jordan is feeling so much better, which I'm extremely greatful for.  He's got his color back and is running all over the place.  Melody has decided to get a runny nose now though, so hopefully it doesn't turn into croupe for her.

I finished a couple of layouts today and thought I'd post.  The first one is from a new kit by Pineapple Plantation Designs called Emily.  Fabulous kit with such rich fall like colors.  So warm and pleasing.  You gotta get it.

The second one is for the Template Challenge given by Chrissy W.  I really love her templates and her generousity of offering the freebies is mind boggling.  I used Krystal Hartley's Crush kit found at Funky Playground Designs.  Love the bright fun colors of this kit.

This is Halloween

If any of you have watched Nightmare before Christmas I know you're all singing now.

Today was a fairly low key day.  Especially after the night we had.  Around 1:00 Loney and I headed to the hospital with Jordan.  He was coughing and breathing really shallow since going to bed, and he woke up crying and just in a panic.  Basically he was treated for Croupe and received 2 breathing treatments and a steroid shot in the bum.  He was a trooper, and is feeling much better today.  Well, since not getting  home from the hospital until almost 4:30, we were exahusted and I slept until 10 when Melody insisted I get up.

I spent the day filling Jordan's prescriptions and picking up a few more things for the little get together later.  I made a crock pot full of chili along with some corn bread (didn't turn out the greatest) and goodies that I ate way to much of.

We got the kids dressed in their costumes.  Melody made the cutest Tinkerbell and Jordan loved his Darth Vader costume.  We headed to Seemore's Too for the trunk or treat they had.  Jordan had a blast and Melody even enjoyed herself.

Well, everyone came over and we watched the Chiller special to see if "Enter the Trojan Horse" was excerpted.  Of course it wasn't, but was interesting to see who won the contest nonetheless.

Just writing what all happened has made me tired so I'm off to bed.  I will leave you with one layout I created the other day.

Super tired.

I have been soo tired lately it's scary.  I'm sitting her at my computer practically falling asleep which you know is crazy for me.  I guess the long night creating layouts has caught up with me.  So, I'll leave you with some recent layouts I've done this past week.  I hope you enjoy.

Different Style

So Pineapple Plantation Designs teamed up with Irene Alexeeva to create a fabulous Collaboration kit.  It's so out of my ordinary style, but is gorgeous.  I had so much fun creating a page using this new kit, and look forward to creating several more.  I've always liked to try my hand a t a little more artsy style, and now I can.

The kit is called Fairy Special and the muted hues just soothe the soul.  Check it out and show me what you can do with it.

It's been a while

I know, it's been forever since I last posted, but I have a good reason.  Been busy with Bradd's kids while his mom is in the hospital in Kentucky.  She was supposed to fly back this past wednesday, but ended up very sick and it was touch and go for a moment.  Not a fun experience, and soo greatful she's feeling better and progressing even more then doctors expected!!  Thanks so much for the prayers given on  her behalf.

I guess I have been able to get a few layouts done this past week, so I hope you enjoy looking at them.
