Catchin' Up

So I know I haven't blogged in a few days so I decided I'd catch you all up. It's been a pretty good week. I have played with the kids, made dinner in my kitchen, done laundry, stressed about Jordan's birthday party. Just about anything you can think of. I made cupcakes last night for Jordan's class, but he didn't end up going to school today. He's got a killer rash on his (you know where) and is pretty miserable at night dealing with the itching. If it doesn't get any better this weekend, then I'll be making an appointment with the doctor to see if it's something more.

I've been up this morning, just puttering on the computer. I need to finish some laundry and pack clothes for the weekend stay at my parents house. Jordan (and Loney's) birthday party is on Saturday. I ordered a bounce house so it should be fun for everyone. I'll be sure to post pictures when I get back of the festivities. Well, since I'm rambling on, I'll leave you with a few layouts I've done this week (and last).

A "Change" is Coming

Well, today we inagurate the 44th President of the United States of America. The nation is in such chaos it's hard to know where Obama will lead us. Down a path of healing or just more uncertainty? I truly hope and pray that Obama will be a great president and be for the people. That our nations can be united and stand together instead of being torn apart.

Well, enough ranting..Here's a layout I created this weekend. I hope you like it.

Long Day

Boy has it been a long and exhausting day. I ache all over, but feel really good about what was accomplished today. I just have to tell you I have the GREATEST parents in the world!!! They are so selfless and willing to give a hand in need. Not only to us kids but to others as well. I truly have wonderful people to look up to. That being said, we worked hard getting stuff cleaned up around the house and outside. It's been needing to be done for a long time, and feels so good to finally get around to it. I wish I had taken pictures of before, but as soon as stuff is in order, I'll post the after pictures.

On a more crafty note, here are a few layouts I've done the past few days. Enjoy!!

12 on the 12th

Ok, so there's a picture/scrap challenge over at Faith Sisters where you take 12 pictures of your day on the 12th of the month. I decided this was probably a whole lot easier for me to do then to take a picture a day for the entire year. Whoa, waaay too much for me. So here's the layout I created with my 12 pictures.

1. Waiting for the bus
2. The bus arrives
3. Checking on my Faith Sisters
4. Running errands
5. Meldoy draws on stuff
6. Melody dressing in my shirt
7. Watching DVDs
8. Mounds of laundry to tackle (someday)
9. Yummy new discovery
10. Kids play in the clothes basket
11. Jordan jumping off the couch (busted!)
12. Me ready for the kids to go to bed

What did you do??

Manic Monday

After going to bed at a decent time for me, sleeping through the alarm was not what I had planned. Actually I heard it when it first went off, but didn't hear it again until 15 minutes before Jordan's bus was to show up. So I rushed to get me and Jordan dressed. Luckily Jordan was willing to rush with his mom and not fight much.

I've been to the store and back, and just waiting for Jordan to get home from school. I have a post I'll do later tonight so be watching. Until then, here are some updated layouts I've done since last week.

Blog Schtuff

If you've noticed I have changed up my blog for the year. I'm debating whether to change it every month or so, but it's a lot of work on your own. It would have been so much easier had I gotten my mitts on Krystal Hartley's new Blog Schtuff using her kit "Crush".

Is this not super fabulous?? So if you're looking to update or even start a blog, why not get these so you can be cool. :P

Brrrrrrrr

I'm freezing today and I'm not sure why. I hope I'm not getting sick. Gonna enjoy some soup and grilled cheese sammiches today for lunch to help warm me up. Perhaps even throw in a cup of hot chocolate. Yumm...

Check out the new Apple Cart challenge over at Scrap Orchard. I love the colors in this kit.

Here's what I did with it.

Come on over and play. It'll be fun I promise.

Oh the Joy

So, I don't know what happened but my children have been terrible about going to bed lately. Perhaps I just give in and let them watch a movie to sleep a little too much. Tonight was especially trying because of the migraine I've been fighting all day. I didn't want to get snippy, but alas I did.

I do have some exciting news though. This month I'm a for Krystal Hartley. I ADORE her designs and she's one of the main reasons I pursued Digital Scrapbooking and how I found a home at Faith Sisters. Her kits truly inspire me. Check out some of my favorites using her designs:

Beginning

One of my goals was to get more organized. Well the first step, for me anyway, to accomplish that is to get Christmas decorations down and a bunch of "garbage" out. Loney made a dump run and all I have left to take down is the undecorated tree. Not bad for a Saturday.

I also managed to get a layout done as well. It features one of JZDesign's templates "Main Focus" and Meredith Cardall's "Funky Love" kit. Both can be found at Faith Sisters if you're interested.

New Year....New Plans

Happy 2009 to everyone. I'm praying this year will be even a little bit better then last year. New goals to achieve and starting over with old ones. I'm sure my list will grow as the year progresses, but these are some of the goals I wish to strive for this year:
1.Read the Bible from cover to cover. I haven't done this since Seminary so I feel it's a worthy goal.
2. Find a plan (and stick with it) to get healthy. I'll post my progress on my Weight Loss Blog if you'd like to follow along.
3. Potty Train both kids. I know what you're saying...shouldn't Jordan already be trained...well, no he's not and I'm not happy about it either. Just gotta buckle down and find a way to get it through his thick skull.
4. Get one of my layouts published. This one will be a tough one, but I'd love to get published somehow.
5. Get organized. My house is always a mess, and it's mostly because I don't have a place for things and/or too much stuff. This year I resolve to do that.

I guess I'll start with that, but I'm sure throughout the year new goals and things to accomplish will pop up. I hope you have a successful and prosperous new year.
