Busy Bee

It's Faith Sisters Birthday and they are celebrating by having challenges all week to win prizes.  I've been busy getting my layouts done.  I'm almost all caught up, just have 3 more to do before a new set of challenges begin tomorrow.  It's been nice being able to scrap.  I haven't had much time/mojo to do it lately.

Jordan is doing well in school.  I think he likes his new class.  Open House is next week, so that'll be fun to visit the classroom.

After not being able to go camping at the beginning of the month, I've had an urge to go somewhere.  I haven't been on a vacation since last year.  I'm almost to the point where I don't care where I go...just somewhere.  Hmm.....what to do.

Back to School

Well, Jordan started school today.  He's going to all day Kindergarten because of being in the special Head Start program.  He was so excited to start school he was up way before me.  Not sure how early, but before me nonetheless.

I got him ready and out to wait for the bus with Nathan.  We'll see if he falls asleep on the bus to tell me just how early he woke up.  LOL  I'm looking forward to this year for him.  Hopefully he'll be able to make some great headway as far as his communication and speech goes.  He's already brilliant it's just getting him to express himself.

Here's some photos from this morning before the bus came.

This is cool

I follow a sewing blog called Presser Foot and they host a monthly sewing project, plus show you some easy ones along the way. Well, I linked to their Pencil Pouch project, which would be fun to do, and then followed that one to a project making reusable sandwich bags. I thought that was a super cool idea. I'm by no means a super green person, but being able to save money from buying plastic sandwich bags sounds like a good idea to me. I'm hoping to get the gumption to actually do this project. Maybe you could too?

Aw Man

Loney decided to bring home a cold from Kentucky last week. Well, he passed it onto me. How thoughtful. I'm just hoping the kids don't get it especially with school starting Monday for Jordan. Just a royal pain in my sinuses if you ask me. As soon as the kids get to sleep (which I pray will be soon), I'm gonna take a nice hot bath to soothe the muscles and ease the pain in my head.

I Scrapped

I've been in a real slump lately when it comes to scrapping. Partly because of the kids hogging my computer, and my time spent of Facebook. But I also haven't felt the mojo I usually have recently. Well, I decided today I was gonna do it. So here's what I did today.

It's for a template challenge at Faith Sisters. Gotta love a template, sketch or lift to totally get your mojo back up and running. Now let's see if I can keep the momentum going.

Yawn

Here I am up way to late once again. But I can say it's not my fault. I'm getting tired of Melody thinking that if she happens to fall asleep before 9:00pm that she has the right to get up an hour later and then stays up for hours on end. It's not naptime, it's bedtime!

I've gotta figure out what to do about that. Just so difficult when this late at night, if she throws a fit she might wake up Jordan. That's not good either. Just soo tired!!!

Fun Day

I had decided that the kids were super bored, so I said I'd take them down to Terrible's Lakeside and let them feed the ducks.  So yesterday morning while Jordan was at school I popped some popcorn (cheap and easy), put them into individual baggies and just waited for Jordan and Nathan to get home from school.

I invited Nathan, Megan, Xue, and Marissa to come as well...since they were just as bored as my kids.  We loaded up into the van, and off we went.

I don't know why it has taken me so long to take the kids to feed the ducks.  They had a blast!  Nathan was quite the shutterbug as I took pictures.  He was the only one willing to pose for my pictures.  The rest of the kids were too involved with the ducks.

After we finished going through the popcorn, we walked a little ways by the lake, and just enjoyed the day.  We walked to the general store to get some drinks and a treat as the kids were very good for us.  Then loaded back into the van and headed home.  If we go again soon I'll probably wait until evening, because it was a little warm.

You Be The Judge

After several years of Jordan having no part of drawing, doodling, let alone coloring, I've been amazed by his budding talent. He's always been a writer and loves to write with different fonts/styles. But his drawings are truely wonderful.

Now maybe I'm just biased because I can't even draw a straight line, but I think there's some real potential there.

What you do think?

New Look

I was starting to get tired of my last blog look, so I changed it up. Here's a list of the kits I used to create this masterpiece.

Papers: Shabby Garden by Ziggle Designs

Torn Element: Tattered and Torn by Ziggle Designs (no longer available)

Swirl Element: Shabby Garden Elements by Ziggle Designs

White Flowers: Unforgettable by Ziggle Designs

Header Elements: In the Garden Collab by Ziggle Designs and Franziska Altmann

Who knows, maybe I'll change it monthly....we'll see how ambitious I am.

Hot and Tired

The past few weeks have been killer for me for some reason. I haven't been sleeping well at night because it's been way to hot. Not to mention Melody staying up until the wee hours of the morning. The madness has got to stop.

Please, could someone send fall/winter around and fast!!!

Summer is Almost Over

Today Jordan started summer school. He'll be going for 9 days from 8:30-11. I'm hoping it's a good transition for him to get to bed at a better time, so that when school finally does start on the 24th, he won't fight me. It's hard to believe that my boy will be in Kindergarten. It seems like only yesterday I brought my little one home and was amazed by his sweet spirit. He still has one of the sweetest spirits you'll ever meet, though has his tantrum moments as well.

I guess once Jordan starts regular school, I'll have to work with Melody to start getting her ready. She already knows her alphabet (saying the letters and recognizing them), some colors, a few shapes, and can read/count to 13. I'm hoping that next year I'll be able to get her in the same head start program Jordan was in. I adore the teachers, and they have done an amazing job with Jordan.
