It's official

It was announced this morning that I've been selected to continue on the Faith Sisters Digital Creative Team May-July '08.  I knew about it on Monday, but wanted to wait until it was announced to tell everyone.  I'm so excited for this opportunity.  I've had a blast the past 3 months, and can't wait to get to know the new ladies on the team.  There are a few returning including me, which is cool, but looking forward to be inspired by the others.

If you haven't already, check out Faith Sisters.  It's a wonderful community of like minded women who love Christ.  It's such an uplifting place, and I've been so greatly blessed since finding this wonderful site.

Moody Monday

I guess I haven't been too moody, but I could easily have.  Jordan decided to wake up at 3:30 this morning, and wanted to watch Cinderella.  That kid is obsessed I tell ya!  I put it on for him, then I sat on the computer and created a layout for this week's challenge (4/22-4/29).  I feel it turned out beautifully.

All elements from Sundance by Designs by Krista, Font: CK Birthright, shadowed frame: Hearts Desire by Dahlia Co.

I was able to nap this afternoon for a moment which was nice.  Perhaps I'll actually go to bed before midnight for once...

Our car is running so much better now too.  Loney and I took it to get the transmission fluid flushed, and while they were looking in the engine they called to say that the radiator needed a flush too.  We've been having issues for a long while now, but haven't been able to get it in to get fixed.  Well, it's like we have a new car.  I even cleaned the inside a little bit just so it really did feel like a new car!  I'm lame...I know.

For those who read this, please have  a prayer for Loney while he's at his job interviews tomorrow.  We need this so bad, and need all the help we can get.

Finally Friday

So I've been recouperating to real life since getting back from my trip to Washington.  It's finally Friday and I'm feeling better about being home.  Don't get me wrong, I missed my kids and Loney tremendously, but it was soo nice to have some alone time without them.

Got the monthly card exchange tomorrow so we're heading to mom's house tonight so I can help Joni work on her cards.  I need to get my kits together before I leave as well.  The kids will be excited to visit with Grandma and Grandpa.

Check out the new stuff at the Faith Sister's store.  It's awesome stuff the designers are putting together!!

Realization

I've been thinking alot lately of one thing I did before I had kids....Reading.  I used to read all the time and since Jordan and Melody came along, I've been slacking in that area.

Maybe it's because I've not had much to read, or because I've begun digital scrapbooking, or because I spend way too much time on the computer.  Whatever the reason, I need to find that balance.  Set limits for myself on the computer (though I've loved creating things lately), my house has suffered because I don't want to face it, and unfortunately my kids have suffered.

I need to get back to those roots again, and get myself better prepared to be the kind of mother my kids deserve.  I realize it's not what I want, but what I want for my kids.  So starting tomorrow, I've got to set limits and prioritize my life to better suit the lives of my family.

Sorry, as I was writing this I changed the way this post went.  It was going to be more about the reading, then turned into looking at my life at this moment.  I guess I've just been hiding from life and not giving of myself to the betterment of my kids.

Digital Creative Team

Well, my 3 month commitment is almost up at Faith Sisters, so the call came out last week for another 3 months.  I re-applied, though this time you have to create a layout using the FS Creative Team kit as part of you application.  This is what I came up with.

I'm back

So I got back last night from my trip to Washington.  I had a great weekend, but it's gonna take me a week to get back into the groove of things.  I'm extremely tired, but gotta get some stuff done before I go to bed.

I had a blast visiting with Heather, Nathan and Ian.  Mom, Ginger, Amber and I flew up Friday morning, and we goofed off for the afternoon.  Lunch, visiting the Almond Rocca Factory (YUM), then to a Tulip farm close to Heather's house.  I took pictures, but with mom's camera so hopefully I'll get a CD of them so I can make some pages.  We went and saw the pasta factory Heather works at.  It was neat seeing how the pasta get's made and the quality control Heather is/was in charge of.  I'm so proud of her...of course the free samples don't hurt either.

Saturday morning we awoke to snow falling.  It was neat seeing snow in April.  We're lucky to see snow in December/January in Nevada.  The weather was beautiful though, just enough of a chill to help you feel invigorated.  I loved it.  We went to lunch at a mexican joint then saw Expelled by Ben Stein.  I enjoyed the movie alot, and learned alot too.  I would have enjoyed it more, but I was getting a migrane.  We headed home after doing a little shopping at the mall and Heather's car broke down.  Her Brother in law came and picked us up and took us to the house.  I felt bad their car broke down, but it was fun nonetheless.  The rest of the evening was spent watching movies, playing hand and foot, and just talking to my sisters about anything and everything.

Sunday we lazily got up and then helped Heather (well, I kinda helped by being a taster) make linner (lunch/dinner) and met some of Nathan's family.  Then it was off to the airport to fly home.

I had such a great time I hope we're able to take more trips like that together.  It's so great having sisters who I'm so close to, and that we all get along.  They're the best and I wouldn't trade them for anything.

I missed my kids terribly but it was a much needed break, and I plan on doing them as often as I can.

Super Excited

I am so excited.  I'm leaving Friday morning to fly up to Washington with my mom and sisters.  It's the first time I've been away from my kids for more than just a few hours.  I'll miss them terribly, but I also know I need this break.  I know they'll be in good hands with Loney (though hopefully he doesn't get too overwhelmed), and his mom, Diana, will be there to help so no worries.

I plan on just enjoying myself, even if it's just veggin' on the couch all weekend.  Hopefully Heather won't mind too much.  It's going to be neat seeing her place finally, though she's never seen mine either.  Just super excited and ready for a change in scenery.

I hate coming up with post titles.....

They're supposed to grab your attention, but after a while you just come up with the same exact ones.  Especially when you have no life like me.

Extremely tired today.  I probably should have gone back to bed after getting Jordan off to school, but instead I made a scrapbook page.  I still had some work to do for the Faith Sisters DCT, so here it is.

Ugh..

Poor Melody hasn't felt well all day today.  I'm tired of the coughing probably as much as she is.  Jordan too for that matter.  I'm so looking forward to the sickness being gone.  It's wearing on my nerves.

Loney did great at his play.  Of course he always does.  I can't say the same for the other cast members...at least some of them...but what do you expect from a group that isn't professionals.  Oh well, it's still a fun night.

I finished another page for the Faith Sister's CT.  I'm almost done with my 3 month commitment and I hope I get the opportunity to continue being apart of the CT.  I've had a blast working with the great kits from all the designers.  We'll see when the call comes out again in a week or so.

Faith Sisters

Discovering this blog/site has been one of the greatest joys I've had in a long time.  I've been able to meet so many wonderful women, and they gave me my first opportunitiy to be on a Creative Team.  The women who run the show are such dear women with a desire to serve the Lord and uplift others.  If you've yet checked out the site you should.  Here's another layout I created using stuff from the shop.

Paper: Paisley Passion (Amie B)
Heart: Lover of my Soul (Dahlia Co)
Filigree behind heart: Hymnal Accents: Shapes (Nikki Painter)

And so it begins...

As I posted yesterday, Jordan was running a fever and not keeping anything down....we'll now Melody has had a fever all day and isn't eating/drinking much either.  It started last night for her, so I guess she's a day behind Jordan.  I've developed a slight cough, so I'm not in much better shape.  Luckily Jordan was doing better today, though not much.  Not sure where it's coming from, but it needs to go away now.

I was able to get a page scrapped today for a contest at Amanda Hiemann Designs with her latest free kit.  It came together so quick, and I think it's so cute.  One of my favorites (even though Jordan has a slobber shirt).

Just going to try to look for the light at the end of the tunnel this next week.  Praying for sickness to be gone, for Loney to get offered a job, for me to get off my lazy bum and work on the house.  Gotta think positively and turn to the Lord for strength.

Crazy Day

Just trying to wind down from a crazy day.  Jordan has gone and gotten himself sick.  He's been running a fever and has a cough again.  He won't eat or drink hardly anything, and I can't give him medicine because it will come right back up.  I pray he gets to feeling better tomorrow.

Loney hasn't been feeling his best either, so with a kid who's sick, a husband who is sick, and a toddler running around...I'm not getting much done.  Ok, I guess that's no excuse but it works for me.

I did manage to get a digi scrapbook page done tonight though.  It's using Gretchen Tripp's Bloomalicious kit from Elemental Scraps.  I've really enjoyed being on her CT, and hope she likes what I've produced so far using her products.

Well, it's time to call it a night.  Hopefully Jordan will stay asleep so I can at least get some rest. Probably should have gone to bed before making this page, but I'll live.  Perhaps I'll be able to nap tomorrow.

Blah

Today is one of those days where you just feel so blah.  I've not felt good since yesterday.  My stomach is gurgling and I've had bathroom trips up the wazoo.  Hoping it all settles soon.

I created another layout for the Faith Sisters CT, and the picture of Melody is just priceless.  She's always trying to get on my computer and be a big kid.  I catch her looking like this all too often.

Oh Joy

So, been having some issues with Jordan getting back into the swing of things.  Had to fight with him to get ready for school this morning.  It's always so difficult to deal with him when he ignores me.  Kinda gets be irked, but we got it done and he's off to school.

He's been wanting to go to Grandma and Grandpa's house which is part of my problem.  He's just gotta realize that I'm the boss. (tee hee)

Got another layout finished for the Faith Sister's CT.  Hope you like it.
