Magical Birthday

So since Feb 1st officially starts my involvment with the Faith Sister's Digital CT, I thought it was only fitting that the first layout be of Jordan for his birthday.  Jordan looks so big compaired to just one year ago.  He is just an amazing little boy.  So....Happy Birthday Jordan!

The Park

So today Loney and I took the kids to the park.  Jordan had a blast, and Melody really enjoyed her first time on the swings.  Unfortunately, we couldn't stay there long because the wind picked up and got really cold all of the sudden.  I was able to get a few pictures of the kids though.

I've been a real slacker lately with taking pictures.  These are the first for about a month or so.

A New Phase

This week's challenge at Faith Sisters was to create a layout that tells how you feel about growing older, lessons you’ve learned, how you are embracing your next birthday, or your goals you want to accomplish before your next BIG birthday.

Here's what I came up with:

Digital Kit used:
Fruit of the Sprit: Faithfulness by Gretchen Tripp (Faith Sisters.com)
Ribbon from Paisley Daze by Beth Nixon
Fonts: AL Age Old Love (2peas) and Arial

Journaling reads:
"This past December I entered a turning point in my life.....I TURNED 30! Most women dread this event like the plague but I have embraced it with all my heart. I don't feel like I'm getting "old" just more experienced.

As I enter this new phase I look forward to seeing my children grow up and can't wait to see what they persue in their own lives. I pledge to try to make the most of my life before I enter the next phase."

I have been chosen to be a part of the Faith Sisters Digital Creative Team.  I'm so excited about this.  I have always wanted to be apart of some form of creative team, and for this to be the first is simply amazing.  So look for my layouts coming soon and be sure to check out the shop for tons of Digital goodies by amazing talented women!

Recovering

I had a major migraine last night.  I was hoping to get some house cleaning done, but my head hurt way too bad.  Luckily I was able to fall asleep fine, and this morning I'm feeling much better.

I'm so bummed about Biggest Loser: Couples.  I so didn't think the Pink team deserved to go home. I think there's a bunch of people who are upset about that too.  Oh well, it's just a show right?!?

Not much going on today.  Just going to try to get the house clean for the umpteeth time.  I'm really good at not letting myself do things that should get done, but jump at the chance to do something else.  Oh well, it's gotta get done, so I gotta find the inner strength to do it.

Nevada Caucus

So, went to the Republican Caucus here in Pahrump this morning.  Very interesting how it all came about.  We had to wait in line for over an hour (well worth the wait) and then cast our ballot.  I think I like the traditional Primary better, but will definately go again if Nevada is going to continue with the caucus.

Watching the news today and it looks like my man Mitt Romney got the most Republican delegates.  I'm still not quite sure how the delegates work for the primary nomination, but as long as Romney wins....that's all I care about.  :)

Melody is slowly getting better.  She's still wanting momma every waking moment, and even most sleeping moments too.  I was up with her at 4 am so I'm feeling the day drag on and on and on.  On top of her having an ear infection, and tons of congestion, I think she's teething so every whine just breaks my heart as well as grates on my tired nerves.

Well, Melody is finally eating something, so gonna take care of my baby girl.

Sickness

So the past few days we've been fighting sickness in our house.  First was Jordan.  Took him to the dr. on friday and he had an ear infection and broncitis.  Not a happy camper all weekend.  He is finally better besides a lingering cough.  I'll send him to school tomorrow.  He has a check up on his ear infection on Friday morning, so hopefully it's a good diagnosis.

Last night, Melody had a fever and isn't feeling well.  I hope she's not as bad as Jordan...that it's just a cold, but we'll keep an eye on her.  She's been a real trooper though.

Other than taking care of the kids, not much happening in my life.  I did finish this weeks challenge at Faith Sisters.  Will find out tonight or tomorrow who they picked as the challenge winner.  I've been really enjoying my time at Faith Sisters.  They are really encouraging and uplifting.  Just a place for people who share the same love of our Saviour Jesus Christ as well as scrapbooking.  Anyway, here's the layout.  Have a great day.

Stuck

I know, I should really be going to bed right now, but I had to share.

We were driving home from Vegas tonight listening to Huey Lewis & the News, when a song title jumped out at me.  I wrote it down and was going to scrap it one of these days.  Well, tonight I checked my mail and the usual blogs I subscribe to, and I saw that Krystal Heartley was having a little drawing for her new digital papers but you had to use elements from her new freebie.  So I used the song title and her digi elements and put this page together.

Ho Hum..

I am so tired today.  I wasn't able to sleep very well last night, and so it's catching up with me quickly.  I need a nap, but probably won't get one today.

Loney is going to try out for a play tonight.  I hope he gets a fun part.  He really enjoys acting, and I'm so proud of him and his many talents.  If I could have half his talents I would go far.

I finished this weeks layout challenge for Faith Sisters.  It's to do a layout about  your 2008 resolutions.  It took me a while to get it to look the way it does now, and I'm not entirely happy with the results, but it was late, and I wanted to be done.

Frustration

Tonight has been a very frustrating night for all of us.  Jordan has of late decided to be the Melody police.  He feels it's his civic duty to push Melody out of the way from either his or her toys.  I don't know if Jordan feels that all of the toys are his or what, but tonight was even worse than others.  We received a plaque from mom that has a metal hanger on it, and Jordan decided to take it away from Melody....well as he was pulling her thumb was caught in the wire and stuck.  I got there when I heard the rucus.  Needless to say, Jordan went straight to bed!  He's got to get it through his head that he can't shove his sister away from her own toys.  I'm not sure what to do about it.

I'm going to try to mark their toys, and hopefully that will eliminate some of the contention.  I know Jordan loves his sister, but this has got to stop.  It's going to be nice to have school start on Monday.  I think he's very bored.
