Cold Camping

Boy oh boy.  I was really looking forward to a nice relaxing camping experience.  Well, it didn't turn out that way.  It was raining on the drive up the mountain, but luckily it cleared enough to set up tents and sleeping arrangements.  The next day started out lovely, but soon turned into what I feared most would happen....SNOW!!!

It hailed/snowed for a good hour, and the kids, Loney, and I hung out in our tent.  Jordan and Melody even had a little nap.  I had decided after a cold night sleep, that I would clean up the van and let the kids sleep in the van, with either Loney or I sleeping in the front seat.  Loney took that upon himself, but I soon realized how cold of a night it was going to be..even with 2 down sleeping bags and a regular one around me, so I ended up in the van as well.

It wasn't all bad I suppose.  The kids were able to play and ride their scooters a little bit.  But next year will definitely be taking place later on in the summer.  I don't want a repeat of this year.  But at least I know I can set up and take down camp without the help of my more experienced parents.  Now to convince them to let me keep the Easy Up canopy.  Hmmm....

Dream on...
Maybe we'll come next year and it will flood or something. Bet it still smelled good up there at least.

Yes, it smelled wonderful up there. My van even smells like camping still!
